These photos were taken by our friend Michelle Sabourin when Rowan was 1 month old.  Michelle is a semi-professional photographer who very graciously gave us these photos as a baby's birth present.  Good thing, too, because they're so great I wouldn't have been able to afford to pay her for them!

Rowan giggled for the first time today.  Twice!  They were little giggles, but everyone has to start somewhere.

The only time Rowan sleeps during the day is when she's in her harness carrier.  Fortunately, this allows our hands to be free.  And when we have free hands, it's time to play computer games!

Today, for the first time, Rowan grabbed part of a toy and brought it to her mouth to chew on.  Then she tugged on it, making another part of the toy hit her in the face, so she freaked out.  A short-lived chewing experiment!

Cookie Decorating With the Hoovers

Rob, Rowan, and I went to Chuck and Sarah Hoover's house today to decorate some yummy molasses and sugar cookies.  She was very interested in checking out their house, but not so interested in the cookies.  Rowan, cookies trump everything!  Get your priorities straight!

Rowan's German Bear

A friend of mine from Germany, Ute, sent a little package with some baby gifts in it, and this bear was one of them. When I gave it to Rowan, she smiled a bunch and snuggled in. I think she likes the texture of the fur and the smallness. Easy for her to hold on!
